+ I am all about customization and added features, if it's available I'll use it to it's maximum potential!
+ Ability to change colors, look and feel of my profile. Suggested Research idea, look at what http://www.cafepress.com has done with their premium shops they offer to regular clients, they have a bunch of predefined themes to choose from to customize your shop, all of them work the same just look different. Then they go all out and give you the ability to customize the HTML or the look of your store (this is for advanced users). You wouldn't believe how customized my store with them is. (http://artwarehouse.sethd8.com)
+ Customization options should always be either modular or static with the ability to override the graphics and features to customize your site. Opening up the ability to add custom HTML to a profile will only blow the door wide open to what one profile could look and feel like to endless possibilities.
+ Namaste!

I like the idea of profile cusomization, but it would be good to either:
a) limit it to color and style, with limited image support, and not so much the quintessential out-of-hand MySpace glitter-fest with videos AND music autoplaying and gigantor images as backgrounds.
b) provide a way to view a profile in its uncustomized form. For example, if the customization is done with CSS, have a button I can click to apply the default stylesheet.
This is to keep bloat on zaadz in check. People associate the terrible user created profiles on MySpace with MySpace itself, because MySpace allows it. You could even possibly implement a reporting feature that would tell a user how often others click the”View Default Layout” button.
I don't want this to become another myspace with tacky looks. I would not object to customization becasue it is a form of expression but there needs to be a clear emphasis on the content of profile over “skins” and superficial elements.
I agree, If we can change our profile we can add special features to help transmit our Ideas and Goals. The possibility to use multi-Media is an atractive option.
I would love to express my self in colors other then white. BUT I give great Kudos to Zaadz for the color scheme but I would love to create my own unique page with my art in the background and colors that truley represent me. One joy of coloring a page is like dressing a person. It is a true definite symbol of their being!
Remember that if you make it too customizable, it'll get all… myspace-y. Ugh…
I don't understand the concerns and fears expressed. To me it sounds like we don't want to give Zaadzters the freedom to express themselves because we feel they may express themselves inappropriately. Isn't that patronising? Surely we trust the judgement and taste of Zaadzters?
Bravo masterymistery. What's up with the customization police? –“I want customization for everyone, as long as I agree with what everyone does!” I don't plan on glitter or anything but why does anyone care if your friends do?
I like Nathan's idea of providing a way to view profiles in their uncustomized form for those who really just don't like their freethinking and creative friends' freethinking creativity.
The big difference between Myspace and Zaadz are the people.
Now, not to say that you can't have more customization options, but I'd be perfectly happy with an option to change my color scheme. No offense, but it's kind of hard to be the Countess of the Night on a white page. :)
Isn't part of the experience of Gaia to see, meet and learn about the differences in people. The ability to at least change the background color or the outline colors would show the interesting peaks of a persons personality.
If no so be it, I love this community and would be perfectly happy right where I am.
I agree with Nathan - adding personality to ones own page is excellent, but we don't want to get too carried away, either. :)
Right now, I am happy with how my profile looks (simple and clean), but it would be nice to customize it, but I think there should be a limit. It shouldn't be like myspace, where people put lots of graphics and then it takes a long time to load or where it sometimes even freezes my computer.
I would love personnalising my pages.
and especially to change the text colour to black, to have a good reading contracst.
Thanks.
