That's pretty much my thoughts on it too.Why take it down at all.I gave my own time to admin the boards and add new features for the benefit of the community, and then some fucker comes along and just destroys that for absolutely no good fuckin reason and without a thought of letting us know in advance. And don't come here Mr ~ C or whoever telling us all to calm down, because trust me fella, this is calm. You better believe it! :D And really the tech stuff doesn't matter that much, it's more that the community was done away with so flippantly.I'm sorry but for all the good that zaadz does, and for my absolute appreciation to Brian (for so many reasons, I cannot say enough really, truly), it's a shame that this incident has blighted my view somewhat of zaadz.I'm left feeling a little cold by zaadz these days, as if the community is an afterthought.I like to think that all of this was not Brian's doing and perhaps he doesn't 'get' how we feel about this because he's very busy with all that other stuff. That's fair enough of course, but maybe he'll read this and realize that what happened isn't on! Well I guess now he does if he's reading this.Virtually every person I have met here who were at the old boards has told me they miss them and they can't understand why they're gone.I'd love to give them an explanation, but as you can see, I'm pretty friggin perplexed about the whole thing myself.
And like Dave said, it would have been respectful if we had been told the community “had” to shut down, for some really important reason, in advance, so we could copy and paste the articles we had posted there.I guess most of us just assumed that the zaadz community boards would stay up.How naive of us eh! LOL! I guess we know better not to trust zaadz so much now.
Funny, I had the same thoughts over the previous weeks.
The old forum was like a local pub, a small one. Or your favourite restaurant… You knew what you could expect to find, what you would get, whom you would meet..
I say bring it on! Bring it back…
The new way of zaadz is great- but somehow to large. I'd rather have the opportunity to talk in a more intimate cirle of friends- with the old family… Papa Wil, Mama Harticulate and all my bros and sis…
For me it was the ebb and flow of ideas, the simplicity of the threads, the organization ot the ideas. We are all over the board now… with a bunch of peple with similar pods…the cohesiveness is not there…..the pix/icons are nice but they don't need to be on the contents pages….I need a road map the old boards provided them…in a less burdensome way… I'm hoping we can see that vigor here…but even so, if if it is new and improved. I like to fly, but I also like to ride my bike. I like email, but I also enjoy putting pen to paper, I like the phone, but I also like to meet face to face…..Just becuase the new is here, doesn't mean the old has no value!
peace and blessings, I have faith in this outfit….I think we will see those boards someday….put them back up, in whatever condition they are….
Hi Harticulate, Flex, Franzi, Bry! Dave… is that the NinjaMasterDave?
This is Linda from the old boards just saying hello! I loved and valued all our exchanges in the past.
I'm not jumping into the fray to advocate for the new boards vs. the old boards.
I have not explored the community aspect of the new Zaadz site, however, when I saw all these postings from my old friends, I wanted to jump in and say HI! :-)
You know that Brian is really great about feedback. That is how he grew his ventures in the past - by listening and responding to feedback – expecially solution-oriented feedback. If you have ideas for how to make these community boards more to your liking, I'm sure he'd love to hear it.
I CAN say that one thing I like about this new Zaadz site is how it makes it easy to see the relationship of the quotes and teachers to different profiles and books and people's reviews. That is really cool! Also, I liked how I was able to add some links in zPpages to excellent small businesses in my community. It is nice to have a simple way to help other people to these businesses to help them stay in business.
What a glorious delightful rush to see and hear my old board family all together again. Linda, Flex22, Brian< Heidi, Benzion, Will, Franz, and all Eye in Eye am one forever.. Eye missed you and feel that what we are doing here is reclaiming something very dear and superspecial to us and the rest of the world. WE can dub this unofficial reunion as The return of the Magnificient! The Awesome! the most Passionate, Inspiring, World changing original voice of the Zaadz community Board back in circulation. Thank you Will for reminding us how very special we all are. How very close and special our energy continues to be and how refreshing and world changing our fellowship will forever be.Let us add the new and fertilize it with the old stuff as joyfully as we can.
i like the old forums too.. there was a time when it really helped me get through a tough period and having the board with friendly words of wisdom from around the world did wonders.. yay to will to spark this again!
Ninja turtles! Rock on! Glad I could inspire such an awesome image lol. Coooowwaaabunggaa!!!
Shyloh– there are soooo many cool people here i spend many hours meeting new people and sharing ideas and stories. I do feel the old forums had something that the new model doesnt. I think it was the sense of togetherness, and the sense of like, being in a learning environment vs a social gathering with a lot of enlightened people. lol I dunno. hard to put my finger on it. But I think it is a good thing so many of us experienced that so we can re-create that if we so choose (whether that be here or elsewhere in our lives).
I miss the old boards too. It felt like an open home where we all gathered and share our thoughts.
The opportunity to read so many opinions and interesting point of view, I met people from all over the world, it was so easy to find them. Now…it is as if you are all in your rooms, very hosting and kind …..but it feels like privet party now, not so many people to share with.
