I don't believe this or any other economic downturn is an act of God. I just lost 1/2 of my retirement savings and I'll admit I was bummed for a day or two but do I think that God did this to me? I do not. It just happened.

Difficult times are meant to test one's character and perhaps even faith.
I may lose faith in myself from time to time but I have never lost faith in The Lord.
Live, love, and cherish life. Love children for you were once one. Seek the truth. Find it in yourself, others, and the God of your faith.
Faith is believing when there is nothing else you can do
Faith is a quality of being: of being in touch with oneself, with life, and with the universe. It is a sense of belonging to one’s community, to one’s country and to the earth. Above all it is a feeling of being grounded in one’s body, in one’s humanity, and in one’s animal nature. It can be all of these things because it is a manifestation of life, an expression of the living force that unites all beings. It is a biological phenomenon and not a psychic creation.

Are we not witnessing a situation where children are conciously rejecting their parents' value despite love and devotion given to them? The present situation has arisen because parents have failed to transmit a sustaining faith to their children. The basic reason for this failure is that the parents themselves lacked faith. Without faith, their love was an image not a reality, a statement of words not an expression of feelings
"A person with faith does not question its roots, for he knows that if he subjected it to the critical examination of his intellect, he would end up without faith. The same thing can be said of any feeling. You can analyze any feeling to death, but when you do that, you end up without feeling and without a meaninful life."
Credo is the word with which the great creeds of early Chistendom begin. “I believe. . .” we say. The Latin credo means literally, “I give my heart.” The word believe is a problematic one today in part because it has gradually changed its meaning from being the language of certainty so deep that I could give my heart to it, to the language of uncertainty so shallow that only the “credulous” would rely on it. Faith, as we have seen, is not about propositions, but about commitment. It does not mean that I intellectually subscribe to the following list of statements, but that I give my heart to this reality. Believe, indeed, comes to us from the Old English belove, making clear that this too is meant to be heart language. To say “I believe in Jesus Christ” is not to subscribe to an uncertain proposition. It is a confession of commitment, of love.
You know, my faith is one that admits some doubt.
Hope is the destination that we seek.
Love is the road that leads to hope.
Courage is the motor that drives us.
We travel out of darkness into faith.
The rigidity of one's religious beliefs diminishes with the presence of faith. Fanatacism is a grasping for order in a mind without peace and without faith.
Have faith in humankind
a respect for what is earthly
and an unfaltering belief
in peace and understanding
True faith does not depend on wish fulfillment or miracles to sustain itself.
When you come to the edge of all you know
You must believe in one of two things:
You will be given earth on which to stand
Or you will be given wings
This is why the faith of the peoples is and becomes a complementary part of it, and the ultimate argument for the existence of religion within man as long as there will be human beings is that, as long as he will exist, he will love, because he is love, and the ultimate form of love known to man is precisely holiness, whose first characteristic is faith.
I have no proof for any proof.

Who's sight is keen and talons sharp,
Help me spot the prey and hit the mark
Help me rise above my human life
and trust the winds that give me flight.
And when its time for the young to leave
A gentle nudge is all they need
From up above the view is clear
I must have Faith and have no Fear.
Marianne Goldweber
"I walk by faith, not by sight."
Hearts are gardens and Hopes are butterflys, coming and going, hard to hold, yet landing on our steady, constantly blooming flowers of Faith.
"What good is it for one to gain the whole world, yet forfeit one's soul?"-- Jesus
Life requires that we trust the pieces before the puzzle is completed.
"Faith gives limitation wings and empowers one to access higher levels of wisdom."
Scientists don’t know what they are talking about when they talk about religion. Religion has nothing to do with belief, and I don’t believe it has any negative impact on people’s lives outside of intolerance. Why do I go to church? It’s like asking, why did you marry that woman? You make up reasons, but it’s probably just smell. I love the smell of candles. It’s an aesthetic thing.
If God is willing to prevent evil, but is not able to
Then he is not omnipotent.
If he is able, but not willing
Then he is malevolent.
If he is both able and willing
Then whence cometh evil?
If he is neither able nor willing
Then why call him God?
To trust in the force
that moves the universe is faith
Faith isn't blind, it's visionary.
Faith is believing that the universe
is on our side, and that the universe
knows what it's doing.
